St Mary the Virgin Church is the Cowes Civic Church. It is the largest Church in Cowes, able to seat up to 900. The current Church is Victorian-gothic in style and enjoys wonderful patterned brickwork inside, with an outer skin of Portland stone.
The Church has a Church hall and conveniences. There are many events held in, and uses of, the Hall, which is very reasonable to book (please see the Hall bookings page).
Services at St Mary’s can be found on the ‘Services’ page, though there are additionally many special services that take place throughout the year to mark the major festivals as well as remembrance commemorations and other events.
Throughout the year we have many ways to socialise, both within the church and with the parish as a whole. There are coffee mornings, afternoon teas, lunches, evening get-togethers. Once a month our sister church of Holy Trinity hosts a ‘Supper and cinema’ evening which gives us a chance to get to know our Christian neighbours a little better, the food is always good and the films vary between comedy, musical, drama etc.
